Breakthrough Fuel Integration

Breakthrough Fuel (BTF) provides estimated fuel surcharge rates that can be recorded on the customer order and associated carrier contract. BTF also provides real-time fuel surcharge amounts that are billed to customers and can be paid to carriers. Trans Plus Systems now offers an integration with BTF to allow users to update their orders and contracts with the Fuel Surcharge values that are supplied by Breakthrough Fuel. Breakthrough Fuel is an option that can be enabled through TPSQLSEC.exe. 

After the carrier confirmation email is manually sent, there are automated emails that are sent to the carrier during the BTF process. There is an estimate email that is sent to the carrier once the order is entered and assigned to a contract but not picked up. The estimate email is not sent if there are no miles placed on the Order. Once the order is picked up then an actual email is sent to the carrier. The actual email contains a dollar amount that is used to update the order and contract. If there are no miles on the Order or the Contract, then it will still update them with a final rate from BTF. The estimated value which is the first email in the process requires miles on the Order and the Contract for the calculation to work.
