Checking the Database Integrity of Simply Accounting
Simply Accounting by Sage has built-in tools to verify the integrity of the data in their database. The integration provided by Trans Plus writes financial data from your TMS directly to the Simply Accounting database. It is important that you regularly check the integrity of your Simply Accounting database. We recommend that you check the integrity after every transfer from Fleet/Logistics Manager.
After exporting a batch (A/R, A/P, O/O) to Simply Accounting open Simply Accounting.
1. Click on the Maintenance menu option.
2. Select the Check Data Integrity option.
3. If you receive a message indicating “Data OK” then please proceed.
4. Otherwise the data integrity issue should be addressed by contacting Sage support. Please also contact Trans Plus to let us know that there may be an issue with the export.
Trans Plus also highly recommends that users establish the habit of regularly backing up their accounting database. Ideally, this should be done before any transfer from Fleet/Logistics Manager. The more frequently your database is backed up the easier it is to recover from any issues that may arise. You can use these steps to backup the Simply database:
1. Open your data file, go to File, and then choose Backup.
2. Filename: enter the name of the file. It would be a good idea to include the date as part of this name.
3. Location: Select the folder where you want to save the backup (other than the CD or DVD drive).
4. Click OK.
5. Do not overwrite an existing backup unless you know for sure that is what you want to do.
